Nexus One Filters Out Swear Words

The information may get a few of you delighted while sadden a few others. Nexus One is built to block any swear word used. That is the speech-to-text recognition function does not let the user (speaker) to send out any swear words. In its place, the phone converts those words into a series of #. That is whenever you type a five lettered swear word, the device will show up the word something like this #####.

The reason for this is that in Android powered products, speech to text recognition is yet not absolutely perfect. The device can sometimes does not recognize the spoken phrase and give back some other word. Which may well result in misunderstandings at the receiving side. And this is the reason Droid phone also has the same difficulty (for some).

This is not the first time profanity is being filtered out, Zune HD is as well doing the same thing with its twitter application. In case you  do not know what Zune is- it’s a Microsoft product and it was first introduced in the market in 2006. And just last Dec, Zune brought out their twitter application which discards any swear word used.  This is one reason (including other) why not everybody likes their Twitter application.

Apart from this, among many Nexus offers that don’t go along well with users is the four control keys at the foot of the Nexus handset. The reason for this is that the buttons work only when top half of it is pressed, and this can be a bit annoying. What’s more, under the sun rays the display is not visible. These are few of those flaws which users who have had hands-on experience with Nexus noted.

And the no-profanity quality is in a way good one. Though some of them will not like Nexus One for being a civilized cell phone. For complete info, read this post on Google Nexus features
